Robyn Manzano, MA, Registered Psychologist Robyn understands that everyone struggles with difficult emotions at times but with a safe and supportive environment, some curiosity, and ’emotional coaching’, clients can obtain important information and new strategies to navigate their patterns of emotionality and build ‘new wiring’ towards emotional agility. She appreciates the uniqueness of each client and tailors therapy based on individual needs and what ‘best fits’ rather than a “one-size-fits all solution”. She listens intently to understand where clients have been on their journey and collaboratively explores what may be needed to get to where they want to go. Also, Robyn seeks to help clients feel hopeful in the process of change by highlighting strengths, deconstructing goals into achievable steps, exploring creative perspectives and through non-judgmental caring. She has a passion to help clients achieve emotional, mental, relational, spiritual and physical well-being. Robyn uses Emotion-Focused Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy as main roadmaps but integrates other approaches and elements from Attachment Theory, Neuroscience, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, therapeutic play and mindfulness. In her work with children and adolescents, Robyn has several tools in her kit including a variety of therapeutic play techniques and activities, neuroscience, CBT to help them process difficult emotions and situations, develop skills and build resilience. She has completed Green Stream with Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute and has used that experience to equip the Refresh Counselling Play Therapy Room. Emotion Focused Family Therapy and Family Systems are useful in working with parents and families to foster deeper emotional connections and help families work better together as a unit. With couples, she utilizes Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to understand the different ‘dances’ they do in attempt to stay emotionally connected. Once couples have more awareness around their contributing steps and learn new ways to move, there is more space to be able to share, negotiate, support, and thrive together. She is also currently training in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. Robyn is originally from Toronto but now calls Calgary home. She received her Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the University of Toronto and Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Providence University & Seminary in Calgary and is a Registered Psychologist. Robyn is accepting new clients EXCEPT new couple clients. To book a consultation or an appointment with Robyn today, please click here. Karyn Zuidhof, MA, Registered Psychologist Authenticity. This is what I’ve been told I do well. I’m not going to pretend I’m perfect, and nor do I want you to. Life is messy, let’s wade through some of the mess together. I will provide the opportunity and space for you to be authentically you. Let’s chat about who you are, what you love, what makes you tick, and what you would like to see different in your life. This is where your vulnerability and my expertise make magic. I will teach you a few things, give you new tools and skills to work through low and anxious feelings. Together we will assess where you’re ready to make changes, and help you make decisions or manage difficult situations in your life. I’m not going to pretend this is going to be easy, the big stuff rarely is, but we will walk together through the hard parts and give you the power to take your health back and prioritize you. We will work through the tools to stop the overthinking, take the stress down a few notches, and address the pressures of life. I will do my best to meet you just where you’re at. Together, we will use cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and collaborate to find the thoughts and actions creating obstacles in your life, test them out, and combat them to decide if they’re helping or hindering you. I have experience helping people with a variety of concerns including, but not limited to stress, anxiety and depression. Most of all, I want to help you reach your potential, and make the way there a little easier. Karyn is currently accepting new clients. I make it a priority to offer a warm, safe and supportive space for my clients while working together to ensure we use the best method of therapy specific to them; this is how I build a strong therapeutic relationship with clients. Uniquely, as a second generation Canadian, I have the ability to take a step back and understand different perspectives – allowing me to take a holistic view for each of my clients. Whether you were born in Canada (or elsewhere around the globe), I am able to identify and work with different characteristics to help you. Although numerous theoretical approaches are used in my sessions, I will tailor a treatment plan utilizing such models as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) to reach your goals. I have spent my career working with families and individuals in multiple settings including community and school environments, large counselling centres, and a domestic violence shelter. Through my years working with a diverse group of people, I have discovered that I am particularly passionate about guiding couples to create meaningful and lasting relational change. I am a registered provisional psychologist and have called Calgary home since early childhood. Having completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Calgary, and my Masters of Counselling degree at City University. Sara is currently NOT accepting new clients. Anneta Manful, MA, Registered Psychologist I’m constantly inspired by my clients’ courage and positive intention for change and personal growth. In my sessions I strive to be non-judgemental, empathic, and respectful; fully dedicated to providing a safe and trusting space for clients. A strong therapeutic relationship is based on collaboration and the ability to capitalize on each clients’ strengths – these are key components I use in helping clients achieve lasting change in their lives. In my Therapy, I use several modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Attachment, and Mindfulness in order to support clients to cultivate meaningful connections in their individual lives and interpersonal relationships. I am also a registered facilitator for a program called “Circle of Security – Parenting™” (COS-P). COS-P is a well researched program designed to strengthen attachment security between parents and children. Through this interactive, engaging and reflective program, parents discover how to read and respond to their child’s emotional cues, successfully organize their child’s feelings, enhance the development of the child’s self-esteem and more! I offer both individual and group sessions to parents and caregivers of children from birth through 6 years old. Upon achieving my Masters Degree from Yorkville University in Ontario, I had the opportunity to work with an amazing set of children on the Autism Spectrum. Over the years I have expanded my client base and now regularly provide counselling services to individuals (teens and adults), couples and families. I am inspired by clients’ resilience, positive intentionality, and dedication to growth. I believe that together we can help you achieve a greater sense of well-being in your unique journey and look forward to meeting and working with you soon! Anneta is currently accepting new clients. Courtney Bell, MA, Registered Psychologist I am very aware that counselling takes great risk and vulnerability – it is not easy to take the first step to open up to someone new and share the deepest parts of oneself. That is why the foundation of my therapeutic approach is grounded in forming a strong connection with clients by providing a safe and empathetic space for them to open up and feel understood. My hope is that I can see your life through your eyes and then we can begin to collaborate with one another to determine and accomplish your personal goals for therapy – you do not have to face the journey of life’s difficulties alone. My therapeutic approach will pull from many different theories, but will often revolve around Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, as well as Solution Focused Therapy the my primary methods. I believe that we all need help and guidance when it comes to “fully arriving” at a particularly difficult emotion so that we can “fully leave” it behind and my goal is to help clients move through that process in order to experience emotions in a healthy way in all areas of life. I work with individuals and couples. I also enjoy working with children and adolescents. I will often use play based interventions in order to meet youth where they are at and incorporate their world and unique perspective into our sessions together. My past experiences working with children in daycares, preschools, and foster care programs, enables me to connect with children and families in a meaningful way. Ultimately whether you need some help navigating your own thoughts and emotions or you need restoration in your relationships, my desire as your counsellor is to help you feel safe enough to face and embrace difficult emotional processes that will lead to healing and change that will create the life you desire. I am a Registered Psychologist, originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Manitoba and obtained a Master of Arts in Counselling at Providence Theological Seminary in Calgary.
